Carrom Tournament Held at CWU

On the afternoon of October 18, 2023, Central Women's University (CWU) hosted a carrom tournament, successfully organized by the CWU Sports Club. A total of 24 teams participated in this competition, showcasing the university's diverse talent pool.
The tournament recognized the efforts of the participants, with Sumaiya Akter and Tahasin Binte Jamal Hridita from the SGS Department securing the 2nd runner-up position, and the 1st runner-up title going to Tanhara Tasnim Muskan and Maria Akter from the Department of Business Administration (DBA). The champions were Ripa Tasnim Mouri and Arpita Sarker from the Department of English Language and Literature. The final match, which took place between the champions and the 1st runner-up from 1:45 to 2:15 in the afternoon, saw a competitive game that ended with a final score of 23-7 in favor of the champions. This event marked the annual carrom tournament at CWU, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering extracurricular activities alongside academic pursuits.
Mehdina Kabir Tamanna, the club moderator, extended her gratitude to all the participants and organizers for their contributions. The prize-giving ceremony, presided over by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Perween Hasan, was an important occasion attended by students, volunteers, and faculty members. It created a warm and celebratory atmosphere, leaving a positive impression. The CWU Sports Club looks forward to organizing more such events, promoting student involvement in extracurricular activities as a complement to academic excellence. As the ceremony concluded, a group photo session captured the memorable moments shared by participants, faculty members, and fellow students during this enjoyable carrom tournament at CWU.
