The Carrom Tournament 2026

The Carrom Tournament 2026 was held at Central Women’s University to promote discipline, coordination, and extracurricular activities alongside academic pursuits. The tournament began on August 19, 2026, and the final match was held on August 31, 2026. The tournament was organized by the university’s Sports Club. A total of 48 students from six departments participated in the tournament. The final match featured Nusrat Jahan Molly and Roumiya Ali Trisha from the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, and Tahasin Binte Jamal Ridita and Sanjida Rashid Roshni from the Department of Sociology and Gender Studies. In an intensely competitive final, the Department of Sociology and Gender Studies secured victory, while the Department of Journalism and Media Studies became the runner-up. The final match was attended by Professor Dr. Perween Hasan, Vice Chancellor of Central Women’s University; Elias Ahmed, Registrar; and Assistant Professor Sher Shermin Azmiri Khan, Moderator of the Sports Club, along with faculty members and students. During the event, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Perween Hasan encouraged students to maintain regular participation in sports and physical exercise throughout the year. Assistant Professor Sher Shermin Azmiri Khan, moderator of the University Sports Club, announced that the club would organize table tennis and chess tournaments in the future.
