AI for Teaching and Research

Central Women’s University actively participated in the Faculty Development Program on “AI for Teaching and Research”, held from May 4–5, 2026 at BCDM, Rajendrapur. Around 10 faculty members from various departments represented Central Women’s University in this enriching program. The event also brought together esteemed participants from other universities, including Begum Rokeya University, and Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, creating a collaborative platform for knowledge exchange and professional development. This two-day intensive program, supported by GIZ focused on exploring the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in higher education under The project Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia (DS2S). On Day 1, the sessions emphasized AI in Teaching, beginning with an opening and orientation, followed by an engaging introduction to Generative AI (GenAI) and its applications in higher education. Participants took part in hands-on sessions on practical prompting strategies, explored AI tools for teaching and learning, and engaged in group activities to apply these tools effectively in classroom contexts. On Day 2, the focus shifted to AI in Research, where participants explored AI-supported research design, automated literature reviews, and idea development techniques. Sessions on scholarly writing and publishing demonstrated how AI can support different stages of academic writing. The program also highlighted responsible AI in education, addressing ethical, social, and legal considerations. The workshop concluded with group presentations followed by an interactive Q&A and feedback session. Central Women’s University’s participation in this initiative reflects its continued commitment to strengthening faculty capacity in emerging technologies. By embracing AI-driven approaches in teaching and research, CWU is advancing academic excellence, fostering innovation, and contributing to a more inclusive and future-ready higher education landscape in Bangladesh.
